Joseph Atallah

Founder & Inventor

Influenced by his science teacher in high school, Joseph took a keen interest in physics and chemistry. After school, he pursued his learning in these fields graduating with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Organic Chemistry, along with a Graduate Diploma in Food Science, both from the University of NSW.

For more than 30 years Joseph has worked in the chemical and food science industries, both in Australia and overseas. His experience is vast having worked in the manufacture of soaps, detergents and oils, to flavour extraction, and the production of ice creams, chocolate and confectionery.

During the past decade, Joseph has hosted popular workshops for 10 to 50 people in chocolate, confectionary, and perfume making, and also provided one-on-one tuition to students.

Joseph’s coffee-enriched heritage and his passion for food science led him to develop the Zou Zou coffee machine. Growing up in the Middle East with six siblings, his mother had little opportunity for relaxing and playtime with her family, instead she demonstrated her love and affection with nicknames, calling her youngest child Zou Zou rather than Joseph - the name stuck!

Coffee is the common man’s gold, and like gold it brings to every man the feeling of luxury and nobility. Where coffee is served there is grace, splendour, friendship and happiness.

All cares vanish as the coffee cup is raised to the lips. Coffee flows through your body as freely as your life’s blood, refreshing all that it touches: look you at the youth and vigour of those who drink it.
